Lightweight ACM aluminum construction for branch and feeder circuits in dry commercial spaces

6/3 AC90 aluminum cable is positioned for commercial branch circuits, small feeder runs, lighting panels and general dry indoor building wiring. The cable family uses three insulated 8000 Series ACM aluminum conductors with RW90 XLPE insulation, a bare aluminum bonding conductor, kraft-paper binder and flexible interlocked aluminum armour in a 600V building-wire construction. As conductor size increases, the cable can serve progressively higher-load feeder and distribution duties when the project ampacity, voltage drop and equipment terminal ratings are correctly engineered. GERITEL WIRE supplies 6 AWG 3 conductor BX aluminum cable with custom marking, coil or reel packaging, batch documentation and repeat-order manufacturing. Final conductor ampacity, termination method, bonding, connector selection, cUL/CSA applicability and installation method must follow the exact certified model and Canadian electrical requirements.

AC90 Cable Overview

GERITEL WIRE AC90 cable with its interlocked aluminum armour is designed for aboveground applications. The distinctive features unique to GERITEL WIRE AC90 cable provide significant savings in installation cost and time. Engineered to replace conduit and wire applications, this all-in-one cable assembly offers fewer installation steps. GERITEL WIRE AC90 cable's interlocked aluminum armour protects the conductors from damage before, during and after installation and provides overall flexibility not available with a conduit.

GERITEL WIRE AC90 is a factory-produced 600-volt assembly of one to four insulated, phase-identified GERITEL WIRE conductors and one bare bonding conductor inside flexible interlocked aluminum armour. Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulated conductors are rated for 90˚C.

Multi-conductor AC90 cables are available in sizes 6 AWG to 1500 kcmil. Single-conductor AC90 cables are available in sizes from 1 AWG to 750 kcmil but are not approved for use in hazardous locations. On single-conductor cables, the bonding conductor is applied concentrically around the phase conductor.

GERITEL WIRE AC90 cables meet or exceed the requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 38 and C22.2 No. 51 and are approved for use in accordance with the recommendations of the Canadian Electrical Code.
