Application
Solid copper NMWU wire is specifically designed for underground wiring applications, including direct burial without the need for conduit. It is also suitable for use in both dry and wet environments exposed to the elements, making it good for outdoor lighting, garage wiring, sheds, and outbuildings. With a maximum conductor temperature of 60°C and a voltage rating of 300V, it meets the safety and performance requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code. The cable supports installation in a wide range of temperatures-from as low as -40°C for two-conductor sizes (AWG 14 to AWG 6) to -10°C for three-conductor variants-when handled properly. For best results, it is recommended to store the material above 0°C for at least 24 hours before installation. This rugged and weather-resistant cable offers reliable performance in demanding residential and light commercial environments.

Certification
NMWU90 cables have passed the authoritative UL certification and fully comply with North American safety standards for underground and outdoor electrical wiring. For applications that require direct burial installation or exposure to wet and harsh environments, choosing UL-certified cables is a professional choice to ensure project safety and long-term stable operation. Every roll of cable provided by Greater Wire Manufacturer can bring higher confidence and engineering compliance to your project.

FAQ
Q: Can NMWU be exposed to sunlight?
It is manufactured with a sunlight-resistant PVC outer jacket, which allows it to be safely used in outdoor environments where it may be subject to direct sunlight.
Q: How deep does NMWU need to be buried?
Direct burial (no conduit): Minimum 18 inches (450 mm) below finished grade.
In rigid metal or PVC conduit: The required depth may be reduced, typically to 6 inches (150 mm) depending on local codes and protection measures.
Q: When to use NMWU wire?
