Application
THW building wires are widely used in electrical wiring systems in residential, commercial and industrial fields, including service lines, feeders and branch circuits. According to the requirements of the Philippine Electrical Code, THW conductors are mainly laid through pipes or other approved wire ducts to ensure the safety and standardization of the system. THW wires are suitable for wet or dry environments, greatly meeting the needs of tropical climates and complex construction environments. Its conductors can operate normally at temperatures not exceeding 75°C, which is suitable for the temperature control requirements of daily electrical systems; the rated voltage can reach up to 600 volts, which is the requirement of most standard electrical equipment and systems.

Feature

THW building wire conductors are usually made of copper or aluminum, which ensures good electrical conductivity. The thermoplastic coating is durable and resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and environmental factors. It cannot be buried directly in the ground without additional protection. It is cost-effective for general wiring applications.
Certification
THW building wires have been certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and BPS (Bureau of Philippine Standards), which has enhanced the competitiveness and market acceptance of THW cables in the Philippines and international markets. With UL and BPS certification, THW cables meet international requirements in terms of safety, performance, and reliability. This is particularly important for the high-end market in the Philippines, as consumers and corporate users often prefer products with international certifications, especially in industrial and commercial projects. THW cables with BPS certification can legally enter the Philippine market without additional testing and certification, which can significantly shorten the export cycle and improve trade efficiency.

FAQ
Q: What is a THW wire?
T: Thermoplastic insulation, which provides protection and flexibility.
H: Heat-resistant, typically designed to withstand temperatures up to 75°C (167°F).
W: Moisture-resistant, meaning it can be used in locations with high humidity or exposure to water.
Q: What is the difference between TW and THW?
Rated for a maximum temperature of TW is 60°C (140°F).
Rated for a maximum temperature of THW is 75°C (167°F).
TW for cost-effective, simpler applications with lower temperature requirements.
THW for situations requiring higher heat and durability standards.
Q: Is THW the same as THWN?
