350 kcmil aluminum RHH wire gives industrial engineers a useful intermediate step between 300 and 400 kcmil when feeder calculations call for closer optimization. That can be valuable in plants where load, voltage drop and existing switchgear constraints make unnecessary oversizing undesirable. GERITEL WIRE manufactures 350 MCM aluminum RHH cable with stranded aluminum and thermoset insulation for protected 90°C dry-location systems. 350 kcmil aluminum RHH power cable can support main electrical rooms, large production equipment and plant distribution pathways when specified by the project engineer. Custom reel lengths, area labels and phased packaging can be arranged to align cable supply with construction or shutdown schedules.

APPLICATIONS

Type USE-2, RHH or RHW-2 cables with Aluminum Alloy 8000 Series conductors are suitable for use in conduit and raceways installed underground in wet locations, and where condensation and moisture accumulations within the conduit do not exceed 90°C. Permitted for Type USE-2 per UL-854 for applications requiring direct burial. For applications requiring Type RHH or RHW-2, conductor temperatures shall not exceed 90°C in wet or dry locations. Type USE-2 is permitted for 600 volt applications. Type RHH/RHW-2 is permitted for applications up to 1000 volts.

FEATURES

10 AWG and larger rated for Sunlight Resistance. Cables comply with UL's FT-2 (horizontal wire flame). On 250 KCMIL and larger, sequential foot markings located every foot for easy measuring. For 1 AWG through 4/0 AWG, sequential foot markings on master reels only unless otherwise specified. 1/0 AWG and larger are rated for cable tray use and comply with UL-1685-Method 1 (70,000 Btu/hr) flame test. Excellent ruggedized and mechanical protection.

RHH aluminum wire should not automatically be treated as a wet-location conductor. If the project includes wet locations, the cable should carry the appropriate additional designation, such as RHW-2 where applicable. Always check the exact product marking before installation, because the RHH name by itself is not enough to establish wet-location suitability.

Can Aluminum RHH Wire be direct buried?

Aluminum RHH Wire for direct burial requires more than an RHH designation. Direct-burial suitability is normally tied to an additional listing such as USE-2 or another approved construction.
