RHW denotes a thermoset-insulated conductor category with heat and moisture-resistant characteristics. Buyers of RHW copper wire should confirm the actual product marking and applicable temperature rating before specifying it.

What is the practical meaning of RHW-2?

The -2 designation identifies a 90°C conductor temperature rating in wet and dry locations. RHW-2 copper cable still needs an approved installation method and suitable terminals; the insulation marking alone does not determine circuit ampacity.

Are RHW and RHW-2 exactly the same?
