Application
FAAL-824 Type C cables are suitable for civil and military airport runway and taxiway lighting systems, series circuit connections in constant current power supply systems, aviation obstruction lights and navigation lighting control systems, and outdoor lighting systems that need to operate for a long time in high-intensity climates and complex electromagnetic environments.

Feature

5kV Type C shielded airfield cable complies with FAA AC 150/5345-7E/F and L-824 Type C standards. It uses high-performance materials and shielding structure to ensure stable and safe power transmission in harsh environments. The shielding layer is covered with copper or brass tape, and tinned copper wire braiding is optional to improve anti-interference performance. In accordance with FAA AC 150/5345-7E / 7F, FAA L-824 Type C, ICEA S-93-639 / NEMA WC74 standards.

FAQ
Q: Why is an aircraft cable called an aircraft cable?
Q: What is the voltage of airfield lighting?
1. Series Circuit Systems (Most Common for Runways and Taxiways):
Primary circuit voltage: Typically 2,000 to 5,000 volts (most often around 2,200V or 4,800V).
2. Fixture Operating Voltage (Isolated or with Transformers):
Individual light fixtures (runway edge lights, approach lights, etc.) often use a 6.6A constant current, and the voltage across each fixture can be quite low (e.g., 6 to 30 volts) depending on the lamp and the transformer ratio.
Each fixture is usually powered through an isolation transformer, which isolates the high-voltage primary circuit from the low-voltage light.
3. Low-Voltage Circuits (Used for Apron or Obstruction Lighting):
For non-runway areas (e.g., signs, apron flood lights), voltages like 120V, 230V, or 277V AC may be used in standard power distribution systems.
