Class 2 Earth Wire for Conduit and Panel Installations

1.5mm2 V90 grounding wire is built with seven 0.50 mm plain annealed copper strands, giving a practical Class 2 construction for protected conduit, panel and enclosure wiring. As a single core building wire earth product, it is PVC insulated only, unsheathed and manufactured to AS/NZS 5000.1 with the conductor aligned to AS/NZS 1125. This 600/1000V earth conductor is intended for fixed installation and a maximum continuous operating temperature of 75°C. GERITEL WIRE can arrange green/yellow colour control, sequential marking, custom coil lengths and export labels. Designers should confirm earth sizing, conduit fill and terminal acceptance for the actual circuit. Sample approval can be arranged before volume production.

For seperate earth conductors. For switchboard and control panel wiring. For fixed wiring within other enclosures or apparatus where the cable is not accessible without the use of tools. Which product standard applies to the earth cable?

AS/NZS 5000.1 earth cable is the product basis for this 0.6/1kV V-90 PVC insulated single core. GERITEL WIRE can include the agreed standard reference in the datasheet, cable printing and conformity documents, while the installer remains responsible for applying the current wiring and installation rules.

Which standard covers the copper conductor?

The AS/NZS 1125 copper conductor requirement covers the plain annealed copper construction used in this product. GERITEL WIRE can confirm the nominal size and strand arrangement for the ordered item and can align batch inspection documents with the approved conductor specification when requested before production.

What is the voltage rating of the cable?

The 0.6/1kV earth wire is rated 600/1000V. Voltage rating does not determine protective-earth size by itself; fault current, disconnection time, conductor route and local wiring rules must also be considered. GERITEL WIRE can provide the cable construction and dimensional data required for the engineer's review.

Does the cable have a separate outer jacket?

PVC insulated only earth cable has V-90 PVC around the copper conductor but no additional outer sheath. It should therefore be installed using a protected wiring method suitable for the environment. GERITEL WIRE states the insulation-only construction clearly in quotations to prevent substitution for SDI, TPS or direct-burial cable.
