GERITEL WIRE 14/2 AC90 cable is designed for dependable dry-location building wiring where compact conductor size, flexible routing and mechanical protection are important. The cable uses copper conductors with Black/Red identification, RW90 XLPE insulation, a bonding conductor, paper wrap and interlocked aluminum armour in a 600V construction. This 14/2 AC90 copper wire is well suited to many lighting circuits and other branch-circuit applications where 14 AWG is permitted by the electrical design and local code. GERITEL WIRE supports project quantities, custom cable marking, reel or coil packaging and repeat production for contractors, distributors and building projects.

APPLICATIONS

Manufactured, tested and certified in Canada, GERITEL WIRE AC90 armoured building wire is rated FT4-ST1 for -40°C to 90°C. Engineered specifically for demanding environments, superior flammability and smoke emission performance.

Designed for Single-Phase Heating Installations.

For use in ventilated, non-ventilated and ladder-type cable trays.

For dry locations, in ceiling air-handling plenums, exposed or concealed wiring and service entrance above ground.

AC90 black red cable is a 600V armoured building cable with two insulated copper circuit conductors identified in black and red, together with the bonding components and interlocked aluminum armour required by the cable construction. It is mainly used for suitable dry indoor building circuits in the Canadian market.

What is the main difference between Black/Red 2C AC90 and Black/White 2C AC90?

The main difference is the circuit-conductor colour identification, not the basic armour structure. A 2 conductor AC90 cable in Black/White commonly provides a black conductor and a white identified conductor, while Black/Red provides two differently coloured non-white circuit conductors. Black/Red is often selected for circuits where two ungrounded or switched conductors are required, while Black/White is often used where a white identified conductor is needed. The correct conductor function must follow the circuit design, local electrical code and project specification; colour alone should not be used to assume the final connection.
