Application

IMSA 50-2 Loop Lead-In Cable is designed for traffic signal and control systems, providing reliable signal transmission and durability in demanding environments. It features a stranded tinned copper conductor (meeting ASTM B-8 and B-33 standards), ensuring excellent conductivity and resistance to corrosion. The cable is available in 18 AWG, 16 AWG, 14 AWG, and 12 AWG sizes, each insulated with .030-inch polyethylene (PE) for enhanced dielectric strength and moisture resistance. An aluminum shielding layer protects against electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring signal integrity. The polyethylene jacket offers additional protection against abrasion, chemicals, and environmental exposure. Rated for 600V and suitable for temperatures up to 75°C, the IMSA 50-2 cable delivers stable performance in harsh outdoor conditions and underground installations.

Feature

IMSA 50-2 Loop Lead-In Cable

IMSA 50-2 Loop Lead-In Cable is widely used in traffic signal and control systems to provide reliable signal transmission between loop detectors and traffic control units. It is designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments and is suitable for both direct burial and conduit installation. The cable's tinned copper conductor ensures excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance, while the aluminum shielding protects against electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring accurate signal transmission. Its polyethylene insulation and jacket offer superior protection against moisture, chemicals, and mechanical stress, making it ideal for use in roadways, intersections, and parking facilities.

Certification

IMSA 50-2 Loop Lead-In Cable is UL certified, ensuring high safety and reliability under various operating conditions. The cable has been rigorously tested to withstand external mechanical pressure during transportation, installation, and long-term use, minimizing the risk of damage and improving operational safety. UL certification confirms that the cable meets industry regulatory standards, allowing it to be legally sold and installed in the market. Compliance with UL standards also helps to prevent legal disputes and enhances customer confidence in the cable's quality and performance.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between power cable and a signal cable?

A: Power cables are built for high voltage and current transmission, while signal cables are designed for data and low-power signal transmission with enhanced shielding and interference protection.

Q: What is lead in cable sheathing?

A: Lead in cable sheathing refers to the use of lead metal as an outer protective layer (sheath) around electrical cables. Lead sheathing was traditionally used to provide mechanical protection and shielding for the inner conductors.
