Do I need cable glands for inverter entries?
A solar cable gland or approved connector entry should maintain strain relief, sealing and the equipment enclosure rating. Select the gland for the actual cable outside diameter and environmental requirement. GERITEL WIRE can review the buyer's voltage, route length, current and installation environment before recommending a suitable cable size.
Can I splice solar cable in the field?
A solar cable splice should only use an approved method suitable for PV DC voltage, current and outdoor conditions. Avoid improvised twist/tape joints; properly crimped connectors or rated junction solutions are much more reliable. For distributors and EPC buyers, GERITEL WIRE can provide specification confirmation, project packaging and documentation support.
Can I install the cable while it is very cold?
Solar cable installation temperature can be higher than the minimum fixed-service temperature. In cold weather, let the cable warm if necessary and avoid tight bending or impact that could stress the polymer sheath. How much slack should I leave near a module connector?
