25kV 100% I.L. – Reliable High-Voltage Power Transmission for Substation and Distribution Networks

Stepping up to 25kV means greater power delivery, but also greater electrical stress on the cable insulation. This primary UD cable meets the challenge with 260 mils of TR-XLPE insulation at 100% insulation level, providing standard dielectric protection for 25kV systems with adequate margin for normal voltage fluctuations. The solid aluminum conductor reduces material costs and weight while maintaining the current-carrying capacity needed for high voltage feeders. The copper tape shield provides a low-impedance fault current return path and contains the electric field within the cable, protecting adjacent underground utilities and personnel. The rugged LLDPE jacket with three red stripes offers excellent resistance to moisture ingress, chemicals, and mechanical damage during installation and service. UL1072 certified and MV-90 rated for continuous 90°C operation, this cable is specified for utility substation feeders, distribution networks, and large industrial facilities requiring dependable high voltage power transmission with standard insulation protection. TR-XLPE insulation resists water treeing, a common failure mechanism in underground cables, significantly extending service life in the wet conditions typical of primary distribution installations.

Product Description

The Medium Voltage Underground Distribution (UD) cables consist of an Aluminum Solid conductor, covered with tree-retardant cross-linked polyethylene (TR-XLPE), a concentric neutral of helically applied copper wires, and a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) jacket with 3 extruded red stripes.
