Is THHN flame retardant?
THHN/THWN-2 products are subject to applicable flame-performance requirements, but additional markings such as VW-1 can be size- and manufacturer-specific. GERITEL WIRE can quote flame resistant THHN wire based on the actual project BOM rather than relying on a generic product name, helping reduce specification mismatches.
Does every THHN size carry VW-1?
No. Some product lines mark only certain sizes VW-1. Always verify the size-specific marking and listing information. For international orders of VW-1 THHN wire, GERITEL WIRE can coordinate technical confirmation, color and size selection, printing, packing and shipment documentation.
Can THHN be used in a plenum space?
THHN/THWN-2 is not automatically a plenum-rated communications or limited-power cable. The wiring method and space requirements must be evaluated under the applicable code. GERITEL WIRE can support THHN wire plenum use distributors and contractors with product-data confirmation, OEM requirements, batch identification and export-ready packing.
How does high ambient heat affect THHN?
Even with 90°C insulation, high ambient temperature can reduce allowable ampacity and accelerate insulation aging if the conductor runs too hot. GERITEL WIRE supports high temperature THHN wire project inquiries with specification review, OEM marking discussion, reel or coil planning and export documentation.
