USE-2/XHHW / XHHW-2 XLPE insulation copper wire is available in sizes 14 AWG through 1000 KCMIL. On 250 KCMIL and larger, 14 AWG to 10 AWG conductors are solid or stranded, and 8 AWG and larger conductors are only stranded. 6 AWG and larger are rated Sunlight Resistant in all colors. 1/0 AWG and larger are rated for cable tray use and comply with IEEE 1202/FT4, flame test and ICEA T-29-520 flame test.
Application
USE-2/XHHW / XHHW-2 XLPE insulation copper wire is mainly used in above-ground and underground pipe systems used as electrical conductors in service, feeder, and branch circuit wiring in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical projects. It is extremely flexible and can be used in wet or dry locations, but the working temperature does not exceed 90°C. The rated voltage is 600V, which ensures the wire can handle a variety of electrical loads and is suitable for applications ranging from lighting and power distribution to motors and appliances.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between RHW-2 and XHHW-2?
XHHW-2 stands for "Cross-Linked Polyethylene High Heat-Resistant Wire." XHHW-2 wire is insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), a type of thermosetting plastic. XLPE insulation offers excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical properties.XHHW-2 wires are rated to 90°C (194°F) in dry locations and 75°C (167°F) in wet locations.XHHW-2 wire is versatile and found in a wide range of residential, commercial, and industrial applications. It is suitable for conduit, trunking, and cable tray installations.
Q: What is the difference between XHHW / XHHW-2 copper wire and USE-2?
USE-2 stands for "Underground Service Entrance Cable." It usually has thermoplastic or thermoset insulation such as polyethylene, PVC or XLPE. Typically rated for temperatures from 60°C to 90°C, USE-2 cable is commonly used in underground applications, particularly in service entrance applications that carry power from utility lines to buildings.
