XHHW wire copper conductors are mainly used in conduits, trunking or other approved wiring ducts for power services, feeder lines and branch circuit wiring in accordance with the relevant provisions of the National Electrical Code (NEC). XHHW conductors can be used in wet or dry environments with an operating temperature not exceeding 90°C. With a rated voltage of 600 volts and a variety of wire sizes, they are very suitable for a wide range of applications in residential, commercial and industrial situations.

A:  XHHW-2 wire is an upgraded version of XHHW wire, a high-performance power transmission wire, and its name stands for "Cross-linked High Heat Water-resistant, Type 2". Compared with standard XHHW wire, XHHW-2 wire has higher temperature and humidity resistance.

Q: How chemical resistant is XHHW wire?

A: XHHW wire has excellent chemical resistance because its insulation material uses XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), which shows excellent stability and resistance to degradation in chemical environments.

Q:  Can XHHW wires be used for underground installation?

A:  XHHW wires can be used for underground installation. XHHW wires themselves have good durability, but the National Electrical Code (NEC) generally requires the use of rigid metal conduit (RMC), PVC pipes or other protective pipes when buried underground to provide additional protection for the wires from physical damage. NEC stipulates that the depth of buried wires should meet specific standards. Direct bare burial is not recommended.
