Application
CIC Cable in Conduit is specifically designed for applications where maintaining circuit integrity during a fire is crucial to ensuring the safe operation or shutdown of critical processes. These cables are widely used in systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and industrial control systems, where continuous operation is essential even in the event of a fire. The cables are pre-installed within a protective conduit, offering both enhanced mechanical protection and the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
CIC cables are tested for fire resistance according to the IEC 60331 standard, ensuring they can maintain their functionality even when exposed to temperatures up to 2000°F for up to three hours.

Feature

CIC Cable in Conduit conductors are made of nickel-plated copper for excellent conductivity and enhanced corrosion resistance. The insulation is made of thermosetting silicone for excellent thermal stability and electrical insulation, with an optional FR (flame retardant) tape for additional fire protection if required.
The cable is further reinforced with a fiberglass braid for added mechanical strength and durability. Armor-CLX is made of continuously welded and corrugated aluminum to provide strong protection against physical damage and environmental hazards. The outer jacket is made of black PVC to resist moisture, chemicals and abrasion.
The cable has been rigorously tested for fire resistance and meets IEC 60331, ICEA T-29-520 and IEEE 1202 standards.
Certification
CIC cables are UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified and meet strict safety standards to ensure that they maintain circuit integrity in emergency situations such as fire. UL-certified CIC cables can maintain electrical function even when exposed to fire, provide fire resistance up to 2000°F, and can last for more than 3 hours. The insulation layer of the cable transforms into ceramic-like ash at high temperatures, and still has excellent electrical insulation properties to ensure the normal operation of the circuit. This makes CIC cables an indispensable safety component in critical systems (such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, industrial control, etc.), which can maintain power supply in critical situations such as fires, ensuring personnel safety and equipment protection.

FAQ
Q: What is a CIC cable?
A: Cable In Conduit (CIC) cables are preferred for their convenience and the superior physical protection they offer to wiring. CIC cables consist of electrical wiring that is pre-installed within conduit tubing, eliminating the need for separate conduit installation and cable pulling. This pre-assembly saves significant time and labor during installation, making it a cost-effective solution for projects requiring both electrical wiring and mechanical protection. Ideal for environments where additional protection against physical damage or environmental hazards is essential, CIC cables streamline the installation process while ensuring reliable, long-lasting performance.
