Orange circular cable is a rugged and versatile low voltage power cable, mainly serving to meet the demanding requirements of electrical installations in Oceania countries. Available in two specifications: X-90 insulation and V-90 insulation.
The X-90 insulation version is rated at 0.6/1 kV and manufactured according to AS/NZS 5000.1 standard. This type of cable supports conductor sizes ranging from 1.5mm² to 400mm², suitable for heavy-duty power distribution and installations requiring greater current capacity.
The V-90 insulation version is rated at 450/750V and complies with AS/NZS 5000.2 standard. Its size ranges from 1.0mm² to 16mm² and is suitable for general wiring tasks where the medium voltage rating is sufficient.
Application
Orange circular cables comply with AS/NZS standards and are widely used in low voltage power distribution systems. These cables are commonly used in a variety of indoor and outdoor electrical installations in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. One of the main applications is in distribution circuits, where they are used as branch cables to distribute power from the main power supply to various points within a building or facility. Its multi-core configuration makes it flexible for installation, whether it is a single-phase system or a multi-phase system.
XLPE (X-90 insulation) insulated cables are suitable for underground installation. The cross-linked polyethylene insulation has excellent thermal and mechanical properties, and the cables are suitable for direct burial or pipeline installation, making them the first choice for powering outdoor equipment such as garden lighting, irrigation systems, swimming pool pumps and external signage.
On the other hand, PVC (V-90 insulation) cables are more suitable for indoor applications or environments where flexibility and ease of operation are a priority. These cables are widely used in building wiring, control panels, and general power distribution with operating voltages in the 450/750V range.

Certification
Orange circular cable has been fully SAA certified, certificate number: SAA-240462-EA / SAA240463. Customers can directly check the SAA official website to ensure product compliance and transparency. SAA certification is a necessary condition for entering the Australian, New Zealand, and other Oceania markets.

Package
The cable is usually packaged in wooden barrels or wooden rolls, which is a standard practice to contain the cable volume and facilitate handling. Given the size and weight of these cables (especially larger conductor sizes or multi-core configurations), wooden barrel packaging provides excellent stability and protection during transportation and storage. Not only does it help prevent damage such as kinking or insulation wear, it also makes it easier to unroll and install the cable on site.
