Do polystyrene sandwich panels require special electrical cable?

Sandwich-panel wiring is a common reason electricians specify non-migratory cable because ordinary PVC can interact with polystyrene insulation. For this type of project, EPS sandwich panel non-migratory TPS cable should be selected from a documented construction rather than by sheath colour alone. GERITEL WIRE can confirm cable marking, insulation/sheath grade and compliance documents before production. Final installation and circuit design should follow the applicable local wiring rules and be checked by a licensed electrical professional.

Can conduit be used instead of non-migratory cable near polystyrene?

WorkSafe guidance recognizes separation by suitable conduit as a control to prevent direct PVC-to-polymer contact, subject to the wiring rules. In practice, non-migratory cable in conduit is most useful when the buyer can verify conductor, insulation, sheath and application compatibility before ordering. GERITEL WIRE supports mixed-size project quotations and coordinated packaging for distributors. If the surrounding material, temperature or installation method is unusual, send the project details for confirmation instead of assuming suitability.

Is an air gap enough between TPS cable and polystyrene?

Reducing direct contact can mitigate migration, but the installation method must still comply with the applicable wiring rules and project design. The key point is that polystyrene safe TPS cable is a fixed-wiring product with a defined 450/750V construction, not a universal cable for every environment. Can I wrap ordinary TPS with tape before putting it in EPS?
