Designed for light-duty indoor branch circuits, 14/2 AC90 cable combines copper conductors, RW90 XLPE insulation, a bonding conductor and interlocked aluminum armour in a compact 600V construction. The 2 conductor black/white configuration is well suited to many lighting, control and general building-wiring applications where 14/2 is permitted by the local code and project design. Manufactured, tested and certified in Canada, GERITEL WIRE AC90 armoured building wire is rated FT4-ST1 for -40°C to 90°C. Engineered specifically for demanding environments, superior flammability and smoke emission performance.

For use in ventilated, non-ventilated and ladder-type cable trays.

For dry locations, in ceiling air-handling plenums, exposed or concealed wiring and service entrance above ground.

What does AC90 mean on an armoured cable?

The term AC90 armoured cable identifies a Canadian armoured building-cable type designed around insulated conductors inside interlocked metallic armour. The "90" is associated with the 90°C conductor temperature class of the insulated conductors; final ampacity and installation conditions must still follow the applicable code and product marking.

Is AC90 the same as BX cable?

In the Canadian trade, AC90 BX cable and "BX" are often used conversationally for similar-looking interlocked armoured building cable. AC90 is the more precise product designation for specifications, certification and procurement, so GERITEL WIRE recommends using AC90 on drawings and purchase documents.
