ACWU90 Service Entrance Cable is a relevant product term for eligible 600V service feeder applications above or below grade where the authority and cable listing accept the wiring method. The aluminum alloy conductors use RW90 XLPE insulation, with interlocked aluminum armour and a PVC jacket for the completed assembly. ACWU90 cable for data center electrical room feeders

Scope

This specification covers three or four compact-stranded 8000 series aluminum alloy conductors with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation plus one bare aluminum alloy bonding conductor in multi-conductor cables. Conductor assembly is wrapped and enclosed in interlocked aluminum armour with flame retardant PVC jacket.Type ACWU90 cable is conforming to CSA C22.2 No. 51 standard .cUL file No.E544860.

Application

Type ACWU90 cables are primarily intended for exposed and concealed wiring in dry or wet locations and where exposed to the weather. For use in ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder type cable trays in wet and dry locations; direct earth burial; service entrance above or below ground.

Is ACWU90 a fire-resistant circuit integrity cable?

Standard ACWU90 electrical power cable should not be advertised as maintaining circuit integrity during fire merely because it has a flame-spread rating. Fire-resistance requirements need separate approved cable systems.

Does ACWU90 meet a low-acid-gas requirement?

Some low acid gas ACWU90 cable constructions use an outer jacket marketed for reduced acid-gas or low-flame-spread performance. Request the exact test and certification evidence before making this claim on a product page.

Can an ACWU90 cable be supplied for hazardous locations?

Certain ACWU90 cable hazardous locations products may have approvals relevant to specified hazardous locations. Classification, fittings, sealing and the actual cable listing must all be verified by the responsible designer.

Does the insulation rating determine the rating of the entire installation?
