In many three-phase power distribution layouts, a ACWU90 3 Conductor Armoured Cable configuration helps organize the phase conductors within one mechanically protected assembly. The aluminum conductors are XLPE-insulated, enclosed by interlocked aluminum armour and covered with a protective PVC jacket. The engineer must determine whether the circuit also requires a neutral, the correct bonding arrangement and any additional conductors. Scope

This specification covers three or four compact-stranded 8000 series aluminum alloy conductors with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation plus one bare aluminum alloy bonding conductor in multi-conductor cables. Conductor assembly is wrapped and enclosed in interlocked aluminum armour with flame retardant PVC jacket.Type ACWU90 cable is conforming to CSA C22.2 No. 51 standard .cUL file No.E544860.

Application

Type ACWU90 cables are primarily intended for exposed and concealed wiring in dry or wet locations and where exposed to the weather. For use in ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder type cable trays in wet and dry locations; direct earth burial; service entrance above or below ground.
