An Armoured XLPE Cable for Approved Moisture Exposed Routes

Moisture-prone wiring routes are a reason to examine the entire cable assembly, not insulation alone. ACWU90 2/4 jacketed cable includes four XLPE-insulated aluminum conductors beneath interlocked aluminium armour and an outer PVC jacket. The jacketed construction is relevant when comparing cables for approved wet-location distribution, but fittings, seals and installation methods must still match the certified product and code requirements. ACWU90 2 AWG 4C Armored Wire

Scope

This specification covers three or four compact-stranded 8000 series aluminum alloy conductors with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation plus one bare aluminum alloy bonding conductor in multi-conductor cables. Conductor assembly is wrapped and enclosed in interlocked aluminum armour with flame retardant PVC jacket.Type ACWU90 cable is conforming to CSA C22.2 No. 51 standard .cUL file No.E544860.

Application

Type ACWU90 cables are primarily intended for exposed and concealed wiring in dry or wet locations and where exposed to the weather. For use in ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder type cable trays in wet and dry locations; direct earth burial; service entrance above or below ground.
