How SiHF-J 0.75mm² flexible silicone cable supports multi-function heater controls with neutral and earth
heater-control OEMs and appliance engineers can specify the 0.75mm high temperature power cable when ordinary PVC may harden near multi-function heater controls with neutral and earth. Fine-stranded tinned copper, silicone core insulation and a silicone jacket support flexible termination near hot equipment. The 0.75mm² conductors are positioned for low-current switching, indication and interlock functions, with three phases, neutral and protective earth in one cable. Determine current for the 0.75mm² high temperature cable for heater control panels from loaded cores, ambient heat, bundling, route and voltage drop. Can standard SiHF-J be connected directly between a VFD and motor?
Do not assume standard unshielded SiHF-J is the correct VFD motor silicone cable. A drive output may require defined voltage capability, low-capacitance insulation, symmetrical earth conductors and an EMC screen to manage dv/dt and common-mode current. GERITEL WIRE can review the drive voltage, motor power, route and EMC plan, then confirm whether a screened high-temperature design is required.
May heater power and sensor signals share one SiHF-J multicore cable?
A mixed power and signal silicone cable can suffer interference, and local rules may require separation between voltage levels or safety circuits. Standard SiHF-J has no individually screened pairs, so combining heater conductors with low-level sensors should not be assumed acceptable. GERITEL WIRE can review the core schedule and recommend separate cables or a screened construction when noise immunity is important.
Can SiHF-J replace thermocouple extension wire in a hot machine?
Buyers considering SiHF-J for thermocouple circuits should note that ordinary tinned-copper cores do not replace the matching or compensating alloys required by a thermocouple type. Using the wrong conductor can introduce measurement error. GERITEL WIRE can check the instrument schedule and separate heater/control wiring from the specified thermocouple extension cable before quotation.
Is SiHF-J suitable for PT100 or other RTD sensor leads?
An RTD sensor silicone cable may use copper conductors because an RTD measures resistance, but lead resistance, two/three/four-wire configuration, noise and required accuracy still matter. Standard SiHF-J is unscreened. GERITEL WIRE can review the PT100 wiring method, conductor length and nearby power circuits, then confirm whether ordinary SiHF-J or a screened instrument cable is the better choice.
