250 kcmil RHH cable is a large copper feeder size used in protected fixed power systems where commercial and industrial projects require substantial conductor capacity. GERITEL WIRE manufactures 250 MCM RHH wire with stranded copper conductors and thermoset insulation for 90°C dry-location service. This size can support main distribution, switchgear and large equipment feeders when specified by the electrical design. Current capacity must be verified using the applicable code, installation method, correction factors and termination ratings. Application and Description

GERITEL WIRE's USE-2 600 Volts or RHH/RHW-2 1000 Volts power cables are suited for use in wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, troughs, direct burial, aerial supported by a messenger, and where superior electrical properties are desired. These cables are capable of operating continuously at the conductor temperature not in excess of 90°C for normal operation in wet and dry locations, 130°C for emergency overload, and 250°C for short circuit conditions. Rated for 1000 lb/ft maximum sidewall pressure.

Does RHH wire resist moisture?

RHH alone is not a wet-location designation, so moisture exposure should not be assumed acceptable. If the installation may be wet, buyers should specify a product with the appropriate additional rating. GERITEL WIRE positions RHH dry location cable for protected dry environments.

Is RHH insulation durable during pulling?

Thermoset insulation is designed for durable electrical service, but pulling tension, bend radius and conduit conditions still need to be controlled. Proper handling helps protect RHH thermoset insulation from mechanical damage during installation and supports long-term cable performance.

Can RHH wire be used where equipment generates heat?
