V90 Earth Cable for Enclosures and Apparatus Wiring

10mm2 copper grounding wire uses a 7/1.35 mm Class 2 plain annealed copper conductor for protected connections inside switchboards, control cabinets, electrical enclosures and apparatus. The fixed wiring earth conductor is insulated with V-90 PVC, has no outer sheath and is manufactured to AS/NZS 5000.1 with conductor requirements to AS/NZS 1125. This 0.6/1kV green yellow cable is specified for a 75°C maximum continuous operating temperature and may be used where suitable glanding and mechanical protection are provided. GERITEL WIRE can offer project printing, cut lengths, reels, drum labels and inspection records. Final design must verify fault duty, bend space and lug compatibility.

FAQ

Can it be used to bond metal equipment parts?

An equipment bonding conductor may connect exposed conductive parts to the protective-earthing system when the design and local rules require it. GERITEL WIRE can provide green/yellow cable in the approved size and length, but bonding and protective-earthing functions must not be assumed to use the same size without calculation.

Is protective earthing the same as equipotential bonding?

Protective earthing and equipotential bonding are related but not identical functions. Protective earthing cable connects equipment to the earthing system for fault protection, while bonding reduces potential differences between conductive parts. GERITEL WIRE can supply both cable schedules after the engineer confirms each required cross-section.

Can the cable connect a panel earth bar to equipment?

A grounding conductor for panels can connect approved earth bars, doors, gland plates or equipment frames when the termination method is suitable. GERITEL WIRE can supply measured lengths and item-number labels for panel production, while the installer confirms lug size, torque and continuity testing.

Can it be used in a distribution board?

Earth wire for distribution board connections is a common use for V-90 green/yellow building wire. GERITEL WIRE can provide the required nominal sizes and cut lengths, but the board manufacturer's terminal ratings, maximum conductor size and bending space should be checked before the order is finalized.
