Green Yellow Conduit Earth Wire for Electrical Equipment

4mm2 single core earth wire is formed from seven 0.85 mm plain annealed copper strands for protected fixed installations in conduit, switchboards, distribution equipment and electrical enclosures. The V90 switchboard grounding cable is unsheathed and uses PVC insulation only, so the selected wiring method must provide suitable mechanical protection. As Class 2 copper building wire manufactured to AS/NZS 5000.1 and AS/NZS 1125, it carries a 0.6/1kV rating and a 75°C maximum continuous operating temperature. GERITEL WIRE can supply green/yellow coils, meter marking, project labels and export packing. Earth sizing and termination hardware should be confirmed before ordering.

What copper material is used inside the insulation?

Plain annealed copper earth wire provides the conductor material required for this AS/NZS building-wire construction. GERITEL WIRE controls the approved conductor size and strand arrangement during production and can provide relevant batch inspection information when the documentation scope is agreed with the order.

Is the conductor round or shaped?

The cable uses a circular copper earth conductor, with strand construction depending on the nominal size. GERITEL WIRE can provide the finished cable dimensions and conductor data needed for terminal, gland and conduit planning, especially where larger sizes require additional bending and enclosure space.

Is this cable intended for portable or fixed equipment?

This is fixed wiring earth cable, not a portable appliance cord or repeated-flexing lead. GERITEL WIRE supplies it for protected permanent installations and can quote a separate Class 5 cable when the application requires frequent movement, tighter dynamic bending or fine-stranded termination.

Can green/yellow cable be used for anything other than earth?

Green yellow protective earth wire should be reserved for the approved protective-earthing function and not repurposed as an active or switched conductor. GERITEL WIRE can print size, voltage and project identification while retaining the safety colour, helping installers recognize the conductor during commissioning and maintenance.
