Flexible Multicore Cable for Commercial Switchboards
For commercial distribution systems, the 2×25+1×6E X-HF-110 cable provides two flexible active conductors and a dedicated earth core within a durable orange sheath. The Class 5 copper construction makes the SAA approved multicore cable easier to position in switchboards, risers and mechanical service rooms while maintaining a fixed 0.6/1kV installation. It is suitable as a commercial building power cable for mains, submains and selected equipment feeders, subject to project current and voltage-drop calculations. The product can also be installed as a cable for protected underground ducts, conduits, trenches or free-air routes. Applications

 

Flexible single core X-HF-110 insulated and HFS-110-TP sheathed cable for mains, submains and subcircuits unenclosed, enclosed in conduit or in underground ducts for building and industrial plants where not subject to mechanical damage. Suitable where space is at a premium and/or where conditions of overload may occur.

FAQ

 

Is this cable the same as ordinary rubber cable?
No. The word elastomer is broad and does not define the complete standard or material system. This X-HF-110 multicore cable should be purchased by voltage, conductor class, insulation, sheath, standard and certified model rather than by the generic term rubber cable. GERITEL WIRE supplies a complete construction description.
What is the difference between 2C+E and 3-core cable?
A 2C+E cable has two current-carrying cores plus a specifically identified protective earth conductor. A generic 3-core power cable may use all three cores as loaded conductors and may not provide the required earth identification. GERITEL WIRE confirms the circuit function before offering a 2C+E power cable.
What conductor material is used?
The cable uses plain annealed copper conductors in a flexible Class 5 construction. GERITEL WIRE controls strand arrangement and conductor resistance for each Class 5 copper 2C+E cable and can provide production test results when required by the purchase specification.
Why are Class 5 conductors used in a large multicore cable?
Class 5 conductors contain many fine copper strands, allowing a large cable to bend and terminate more easily than a rigid construction. This flexible copper multicore cable is especially useful in crowded switchrooms and service routes. GERITEL WIRE also plans drum lengths to reduce unnecessary joints.
