3 AWG RHH wire provides a useful intermediate conductor size for protected fixed distribution where designers need more copper area than 4 AWG without moving immediately to 2 AWG. GERITEL WIRE produces 3 AWG RHH copper cable with stranded conductors and thermoset insulation for 90°C dry-location service. It can be specified for industrial panels, building feeders and equipment-room power pathways when UL44 RHH construction is required. Actual current capacity depends on installation method, ambient temperature, conductor grouping and terminations. GERITEL WIRE supplies 3 AWG UL44 feeder wire with custom voltage marking, printing, reel length, packaging and scheduled project delivery.

Application and Description

GERITEL WIRE's USE-2 600 Volts or RHH/RHW-2 1000 Volts power cables are suited for use in wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, troughs, direct burial, aerial supported by a messenger, and where superior electrical properties are desired. These cables are capable of operating continuously at the conductor temperature not in excess of 90°C for normal operation in wet and dry locations, 130°C for emergency overload, and 250°C for short circuit conditions. Rated for 1000 lb/ft maximum sidewall pressure.

Can RHH wire be used at 90°C continuously?

RHH is designed around a 90°C dry-location temperature rating, but actual operating current and conductor temperature depend on the installation, termination ratings and code requirements. GERITEL WIRE supplies RHH thermoset wire for systems engineered within those limits.

What voltage marking should I specify for RHH wire?

The correct voltage marking depends on the electrical system and the approved product construction. GERITEL WIRE can support 600V, 1000V and 2000V project requirements where applicable. When ordering RHH cable voltage options, provide the system voltage, application and required marking so the specification can be confirmed.

Does RHH wire comply with North American wiring practices?

RHH is a North American conductor designation used in building and industrial wiring specifications.
