Thermoset Insulated Feeder Wire for Plants Equipment Rooms and Protected Distribution Networks

Stranded Aluminum RHH Cable from GERITEL WIRE is developed for protected feeder and fixed power-distribution systems in industrial plants, equipment rooms and manufacturing facilities. The stranded conductor improves handling during routing and termination, while thermoset insulation supports dependable 90°C service in dry locations. Industrial Aluminum RHH Wire can be used in conduit, raceway, panel and electrical-room installations when UL44 RHH construction is specified by the project engineer. GERITEL WIRE supplies Aluminum RHH Feeder Cable with 600V, 1000V and 2000V options, customized identification, reel lengths, packaging and project-based production scheduling for industrial contractors and OEM buyers.

APPLICATIONS

Type USE-2, RHH or RHW-2 cables with Aluminum Alloy 8000 Series conductors are suitable for use in conduit and raceways installed underground in wet locations, and where condensation and moisture accumulations within the conduit do not exceed 90°C. Permitted for Type USE-2 per UL-854 for applications requiring direct burial. For applications requiring Type RHH or RHW-2, conductor temperatures shall not exceed 90°C in wet or dry locations. Type USE-2 is permitted for 600 volt applications. Type RHH/RHW-2 is permitted for applications up to 1000 volts.

FEATURES

10 AWG and larger rated for Sunlight Resistance. Cables comply with UL's FT-2 (horizontal wire flame). On 250 KCMIL and larger, sequential foot markings located every foot for easy measuring. For 1 AWG through 4/0 AWG, sequential foot markings on master reels only unless otherwise specified. 1/0 AWG and larger are rated for cable tray use and comply with UL-1685-Method 1 (70,000 Btu/hr) flame test. Excellent ruggedized and mechanical protection.

Can Aluminum RHH Wire be used around PDU equipment?

Aluminum RHH PDU feeder wire can support facility-side fixed power distribution to power-distribution equipment where aluminum conductors are permitted. The final cable type depends on the voltage, pathway and equipment terminations. In data-center projects, low-smoke, tray or other special requirements should be reviewed separately rather than assumed from the RHH designation.

Does switchgear need special lugs for aluminum RHH conductors?

Aluminum RHH switchgear wire must terminate on lugs that are specifically approved for aluminum conductors and the selected size. Proper torque, stripping and connector preparation are critical to long-term reliability. The switchgear manufacturer should confirm terminal compatibility and bending space before large conductors are ordered.

Can large kcmil Aluminum RHH Cable fit standard panel lugs?
