For projects that need compact fixed wiring with an independent protective covering, GERITEL WIRE PVC Insulated and Sheathed Wire combines a stranded annealed copper conductor with V-90 PVC insulation and a smooth PVC outer sheath. The controlled extrusion process supports even coverage, clean stripping and consistent finished dimensions for efficient installation. This single-core construction is appropriate for building distribution, switchboards, machinery panels and other 450/750V circuits installed in conduit, ducts or protected cable routes. It is not intended as a trailing lead or repeatedly flexed equipment cord. Red and black insulation options help identify circuits, while custom printing, lengths, reels and carton or pallet packing can be prepared for wholesalers, contractors and modular-building manufacturers.

Applications

PVC INSULATED AND SHEATHED CABLE TO AS/NZS 5000.2. For mains, submains and subcircuits unenclosed, enclosed in conduit,buried or in underground ducts for buildings and industrial plants where not subject to mechanical damage.

A 4mm² SDI cable may be considered for larger branch circuits, selected equipment feeds and distribution routes. GERITEL WIRE can provide product data, while the project engineer confirms ampacity, voltage drop, route conditions and terminal compatibility.

Is 6mm² available for feeder or submain work?

Yes. A 6mm² SDI wire can be supplied for suitable feeder, submain or fixed-equipment circuits. The permitted load will vary between conduit, free-air, grouped and underground-duct routes, so the installation method must be included in the size calculation.

Where is the 10mm² product normally considered?

A 10mm² SDI cable is commonly considered for higher-load building distribution, switchboard links and selected submains. Circuit length, grouping, ambient temperature, protective device and terminal rating must be assessed before the size is approved.

Can the 16mm² size be used for consumer mains?
