Compact Single Core Building Solution with Separate Insulation and Protective Sheath

Designed for fixed power distribution, GERITEL WIRE Single Double Insulated Cable places V-90 PVC insulation and a separate PVC sheath around one stranded copper conductor. The two polymer layers provide a more protected construction than ordinary unsheathed building wire while keeping the cable compact for pulling and termination. It is suitable for mains, submains, subcircuits, switchboard connections and fixed equipment wiring in residential, commercial and industrial projects. Installation may include free-air runs, conduit and protected duct systems when the cable is not exposed to damaging mechanical stress. Buyers can specify conductor sizes from 1mm² to 16mm², red or black insulation, customized identification and practical reel lengths. GERITEL WIRE supports SAA documentation and export order coordination.

What conductor sizes are available in this series?

The standard SDI cable size range includes 1mm², 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4mm², 6mm², 10mm² and 16mm². Please send your full size, colour and quantity schedule because reel availability and packing options may differ between conductor sizes.

When might a project specify the 1mm² option?

A 1mm² SDI wire may be considered for smaller fixed circuits when permitted by the electrical design and local rules. It should be selected only after checking design current, route length, voltage drop, protective device and the actual installation method.

Is the 1.5mm² size commonly considered for lighting?

A 1.5mm² SDI cable is often considered for lighting and other smaller fixed circuits. Final suitability is not determined by the application name alone; grouping, ambient temperature, surrounding insulation, route length and circuit protection must also be checked.

Can I specify 2.5mm² for a general power circuit?

A 2.5mm² SDI wire is frequently requested for selected final power circuits, but it is not automatically correct for every outlet or load. The designer should verify current capacity, voltage drop, installation conditions and the rating of the protective device.
