North American projects often specify UL 4703 PV wire or other NEC/UL requirements rather than relying solely on EN 50618. The project market and authority requirements should be identified before substituting an EN/IEC solar cable into a UL-oriented design. Can H1Z2Z2-K replace UL 4703 PV wire?
H1Z2Z2-K vs UL 4703 is a standards-and-market question, not only a performance comparison. A cable certified to EN 50618 should not be assumed to satisfy a UL 4703 requirement unless it also has the necessary North American approval.
