Applications

What minimum bending radius should I use?

For the GERITEL construction, the SiHF-J cable bending radius is listed as 5 times overall diameter for fixed routing and 15 times overall diameter when flexed. Use the finished-cable diameter from the approved datasheet, avoid kinks, and ask GERITEL WIRE to confirm the limit for the exact ordered size.

Can SiHF-J be installed permanently in cable tray?

A fixed installation silicone cable can be routed in a protected tray when voltage, temperature, support spacing, bend radius and local code are satisfied. GERITEL WIRE recommends protecting it from sharp tray edges and heavy cables, and can provide the outer diameter needed for tray-fill and clamp planning.

Can I use this cable in a drag chain?

Standard SiHF-J should be treated as an occasional flexing cable, not a continuous drag-chain cable with defined millions of cycles. GERITEL WIRE asks for travel distance, speed, acceleration and bend radius; if continuous motion is required, we will recommend evaluating a purpose-designed moving cable instead.

Can the cable be pulled under tension during operation?

The intended application is silicone cable without tensile stress. It may be routed during installation, but it should not carry suspended loads or experience continuous pulling in service. GERITEL WIRE helps buyers plan strain relief, support spacing and termination anchoring so the conductor and soft silicone sheath are not overloaded.
