18 AWG TC-ER – Compact Double-Shielded Instrumentation Cable with Nylon Jacket for High-Density Installations
Control cabinets and cable trays in modern factories are more crowded than ever. Fitting multiple instrumentation cables into limited space requires a wire that is both reliable and compact. This 18 AWG instrumentation cable delivers double-shielded protection-individual pair shields plus an overall shield-in a smaller gauge that allows more conductors in the same tray space. The stranded bare copper conductors provide flexibility for installation, while the PVC/Nylon/PVC construction adds a rugged nylon layer that resists abrasion, oil, and mechanical stress in demanding industrial environments. UL1277 and UL83 certified with a 600V rating, this cable is Type TC-ER rated for exposed run tray installations, eliminating the need for conduit and reducing installation costs. The 18 AWG size is ideal for applications requiring dense wiring in factory automation systems, instrumentation panels, and sensor networks where space is at a premium but signal integrity cannot be compromised.

Product Description

 

The PVC/Nylon/PVC, 600V Instrumentation, Type TC-ER and Direct Burial Cables consist of fully annealed bare copper Class B stranded conductors (in pairs or triads), covered with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and clear Nylon insulation, overall shielded or individually and overall shielded and black PVC jacket. These cables are used in control systems, audio, intercom, alarm circuits and energy management.

  • In free air, ducts, cable trays, conduit, raceways and direct burial
  • Approved for Class I, Div. 2 industrial hazardous locations per NEC
  • Used as a non-power-limited fire alarm circuit cable (NPLF) per NEC Article 760
  • Permitted for Exposed Run (ER) used in accordance with NEC for 3 or more conductors; two conductors without a ground wire are Type TC only
