What Is The Difference Between SOOW Cable And SJ?

Leave a message

The main differences between soow cable and SJ cable are their rated voltage, purpose, and some specific physical characteristics. ‌

soow cable GERITEL WIRE

Rated voltage: The rated voltage of soow cable is 600 volts, while the rated voltage of SJ cable is 300 volts. This means that soow wire are more suitable for applications that require higher voltage.

Purpose: soow cable are particularly suitable for industrial and processing equipment, such as cranes, hoists, rack systems, power tools, building equipment, portable garage lighting, etc. It is also applicable to any electrical equipment exposed to oil, solvents, flames, and moisture. In contrast, although SJ cables are also suitable for portable devices, their rated voltage is lower and may be more suitable for certain low-voltage application scenarios.

Physical characteristics: soow electrical cable have excellent flexibility, resistance to oil, solvents, ozone, weather, sunlight, and water. It has also passed flame retardant testing, meets VW-1 and FT2 standards, has a temperature range from -40 ℃ to+90 ℃, and is suitable for shallow water immersion. Although SJ cables also have heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, and wear resistance, their specific technical parameters and physical characteristics may differ from soow cable to meet different usage needs.

Overall, soow cable are more suitable for applications that require higher voltage and stronger resistance to environmental stress due to their higher rated voltage and wide range of applications, while SJ cable may be more suitable for specific low voltage applications
